App Details Module
When you first login to Skybuilder Terra, you will see a blank canvas like the one below (at the time of this tutorial). As you add apps, these will be listed in a dropdown box so that you may select the app you desire to view or edit. The first screen you see is called the App Details module.
On the right side of the App Details screen you will see a big Plus Sign.
Click on that item to start building a new app.
As you complete and save the details for your app, you will see the app beginning to take form on the right side of the screen.
App Details Screen
Let’s take a closer look at the App Details Screen.
Use Template? (defaults to no) The first question on the agenda is whether or not you want to use a Template. If you select “Yes” a dropdown box will list the available templates.
When you choose a template, you are not choosing a design. The templates are for preselecting the modules that one would normally choose when creating specific types of apps. For example, an app for a restaurant would most likely use different modules than an app for a hair salon. So, if you are building an app for a hair salon you could select that template which would preload the standard modules a hair salon would use. You may delete any module or add to the selected modules as you desire.
App Title: Required. Enter a short name for your app. Use a keyword that describes your app.
App Description: Required. This field is a short in-house description for your app. You will need to create a great description for the app store, and you can go ahead and do that here, but it is not necessary. It is only necessary to insert a short description at this point.
WP8 Publisher Name – This is only required if you are a Windows 8 developer. Otherwise, skip this field.
Language: Skip this if you are creating an app for English-speaking users. If you want to create an app in a different language, choose the language from the dropdown list. You will then need to use that language when you configure your modules.
App Icon: Required. Upload a 512×512 PNG image to avoid distortion. If you cannot create your icon, we suggest that you outsource this to a graphic designer. Fiverr.com is a good place to find low-cost graphic designers.
App Platform: You must choose at least one.
The icons represent (from left to right) the following app stores: Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, Windows 8, FireFox 5 and HTML 5. You may select all of these if you have developer accounts with each platform listed.
Configure with Facebook: (optional) If you (or your client) have a Facebook Page, you may click the Configure With Facebook button to auto-populate several modules, depending on the information found on FB.
Save: You may save and stay on the screen. One reason you might want to do this is to make sure your icon looks good once uploaded.
Save & Continue: This will take you to the next step in the app configuration.
Note: If you do not Save or Save & Continue your work will be lost.
